ANTE-NATAL PROTESTORS DEMAND MEETING WITH LETTERKENNY HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT

first_imgProtestors at Dungloe Community Hospital today.Protestors have called on the management of Letterkenny General Hospital to come and meet them to discuss the future of antenatal services at Dungloe Community Hospital.Around 40 people gathered at the gates of the Dungloe hospital at lunchtime.It follows what organisers say was an email from the management of Letterkenny General Hospital was circulated at the meeting which did not give any commitment to reinstate the clinic. They say this comes despite announcements by local politicians that they had received assurances from hospital management that the clinic would be reopened as soon as the consultant returned from sick leave.Protestors now want hospital management to come and met with them to discuss the issue.Local independent TD Thomas Pringle and independent Cllr Micheâl Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig attended today’s the protest.‘It is really important that the community make their voices heard about the loss of this vital clinic to expectant mothers and their families and ensure that the HSE do not get away with withdrawing this service.
